At the final Studio Quad on November 22nd, 2009, Norma Shelly was presented a plaque by the USCF which stated that "the US Chess Federation recognizes Norma Shelly for her 35 years of dedication and generosity to chess and chess players."In attendance were players who had participated in tournaments in every decade including the early '70s.
Players signed a chess board for her.
The studio quads will be missed, but fondly remembered.
