On Sunday 11/22, you are all invited to join us in thanking Norma Shelly for her 35 years of hosting monthly chess tournaments for the greater Capital District. She has provided a warm and welcoming place to enjoy the game we love and on she has decided it is time to retire from chess organizing. Join us for the very last "Schenectady Quad" and in sending Norma off with a BIG "thank you" party.
Some of you may already be planning on doing something yourself for Norma. Please do. And here's what we are also creating:
9:15-9:45 arrive if you want to play in the big, final quad! $7 to enter as usual.
10:00 starts round 1
@2:00 -ish is the start of round 2
@5:00 the party begins - food and beverages!!! For once, Norma is NOT preparing any food! (She LOVES that idea!)
... so if you really want to play round 3 you can, just know the party will be going on in the other room. But I really encourage all players to take a third round bye and let's party instead!! And if you just want to come for the party, be there by 5:00.
WANT TO BE PART OF THIS? HERE'S HOW:
* be there! to play, to talk, to party ... come and let Norma know your appreciation
* tell all your friends - especially people "from waaaaaaay back!" Let's pack the Studio!
* E-MAIL ME - tell me how many people are coming - I need to know how much food and drinks to provide. Do this ASAP and update me if more friends confirm.
LET'S TEAM UP IN CREATING A SPECIAL DAY:
* some of you can contribute $ for the food and drinks
* some of you can assist with putting the festivities together
* E-MAIL ME (pjferg@msn.com) or CALL ME (892-6201) - let's create and have fun
I really could use your support in having this be a simply fabulous "thank you!" party. Norma deserves a huge send off, doesn't she? Let's team up and give her that.
Contact me soon!
And talk to your friends. There are a lot of people who have played in quads over the past 35 years - get that Sunday on everybody's calendars. Yahoooooo!!!!!!
Thank you! Phil Ferguson, President ENYCA
